Changing from Contract to PAYG

Just to let any one who is changing from a orange contract to payg using your existing 3G phone.

When you change from contract to payg orange send you a new sim as the payg sim is different than a contract sim.

I have just received my payg sim and I was a bit suspicious of the sim I received as it showed no signs that it was a 3G sim and the pack looked like a standard 2G sim pack.

When the transfer to payg was nearly complete I double checked with them and asked them to confirm that they sent a 3G sim. After several minutes the c/s rep told me that as standard orange only send out 2G sims when switching from contract to payg even though they know your contract shows that one is using a 3G phone.

In the end orange had to re-activate my contract sim and cancel the conversion to payg.

I now have to wait for up to 7 days for a 3G sim to be sent to me.

If any one else is thinking of switching from orange contract to orange payg and have a 3G phone, check that they are sending you a 3G sim.
