2G Sim Card in NECe616

Hi everybody,

I was just wondering if anybody knew whether putting a 2G SIM card into the NECe616 would cause any long term damages on the handset - as I am happy with the 616, however the reception i get using 3 Australia is obsurd.

If it is possible to use a Vodafone or Optus sim card with the NECe616 without damaging the phone, that would be the option id like to take.
